Who We Are
PEPL Consulting was founded by Ben Wood as a natural extension to his successful career over several decades. Ben has established, grown and sold sustainably profitable businesses in the workforce, staffing, and professional services industries. His growth strategies utilise both organic and M&A activity.
Ben’s career began in London with a global accountancy staffing firm. After transferring to Australia, he soon became owner and Managing Director of Clicks IT Recruitment. Under Ben’s leadership, the business grew from ten contractors to over a thousand contractors, generating sales of over $200m. In 2012, he also established a separate IT Consulting subsidiary.
In 2014, together with his business partner, Ben commenced an exit plan which in April 2016 resulted in the successful $100m sale of these and other group businesses to Outsourcing Inc, a multi-billion dollar Tokyo-listed global company.
This opened the door to Ben’s advisory career. He played a key role in the acquisition of a professional services business in 2018 and remained an employee of Outsourcing until Dec 2021. He then became an advisor to the group, chairing the Board of the Oceania region that comprises 5 main businesses with combined sales of over $750m, and chairing NFP boards whilst researching his GTM plan for his advisory practice. By December 2024 he had resigned all his directorships, including with Outsourcing, to focus on his advisory practice.
Over this time Ben has made lots of mistakes, from which he has learned a lot. His strengths include planning, implementing, problem solving, decision making, prioritising and relationship building. And he never loses his cool.
